about

The new soundtrack of Water Knives, 24, is a journey which begins in an apartment and ends in an apartment, and in between a core of birth-life-death-mourning-rebirth takes place.
This cyclic process, known as Samsara in Buddhism, is presented here as a 24-hour soundtrack in the life of a clubber, a person whose life revolves around an axis comprised entirely of a big corkboard filled with pictures of dimly lit clubs, both hypnotic and hostile electronic music, and authentically smiling people whose smiles transform into disturbed and disturbing ones.
The place, the enclosure and the people who surround you – that ever-present trio that forms the foundation of every life episode, lies at the base of this album as well.
Four sections comprise the musical fabric of 24, which expresses conflicting and paradoxical emotions, personally known to anyone who nowadays experiences the 24 hours around a party, or misses the ‘good old days’ before the circle of life changed once more.
The soundtrack’s story begins at the apartment late in the evening, where people have gathered, and are about to spend together close to eight hours in a tribal, pagan ritual, which enlivens, and at times, kills a party. The first part contains the hopeful expectations towards another night whose wonders are unknown to the participants. It continues in the club, with a portrayal of the boundary between the clear and present, and the psychedelic and at times out-of-body experience, which changes in the third part at the point of spiritual darkness, at the moment when the light of day sears the soul, and concludes with the exhausting trudge to the apartment, up a Tel Aviv staircase, shaking hands looking for an Advil, even two, and hopefully we’ll manage to sleep.
24 is an album that developed as a journal of the lives of its producers over a period of several years, and it tells the true story, without embellishment or glorification, without regret or remorse, of the ups and downs of a popular, fringe life-style, a clubber culture, where every person will agree to revolve around the Samsara cycle, and be born again at every party, like a persistent fight for life, music and a community of people similar to you, some of which you will never meet again after tonight, and others will become partners with whom you’ll form future families.

“At times, the night is beautiful songs
The night is a melody and the joy of youth
At times, it is so innocent.”
